Did you know Monsignor Stuart Swetland, president of Donnelly College, is a frequent guest contributor for various Catholic publications?
Depending on the topic, his writings show the depth and breadth of his knowledge about not only Catholic history and theology, but also about topics concerning the human condition, social ethics and Just War Theory.
Recently, Monsignor Swetland published two articles. The first is an introduction to “Fratelli tutti”, the newest encyclical letter to the Church by Pope Francis. This piece was written for The Leaven, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese in the Kansas City in Kansas.
The second article, written for the National Catholic Register, provides a thought-provoking narrative about the need for an end to nuclear arms by weaving together history, theology and his own reflections as a former Naval officer.
We invite you to read these articles and reflect on what they mean for you in this time.
